Did you know you have an air recirculation button in your car?

Today our area was affected heavily by the

Canadian wildfires. It feels hard to complain about it because the people that are actually closer to the fires who might lose their homes have so much more to at risk than the rest of us that were just affected by the smoke. That being said, the smoke and the haze was hard on people that had asthma or breathing difficulties in the area where I lived. Today was a great day to use the air recirculation button in the car. In case you don't know, the air recirculation button is designed to take the air that's in the car to cool down or heat or whatever you are doing instead of pulling air from outside of the car. This is great for if you're driving on a Thruway and there's a lot of car exhaust or on a day like today when there's a lot of smoke outside. It's also great for days when you want to help your air conditioning work better. If it's super hot outside in your air conditioning in your car keeps pulling outside air and cooling it. It has to work harder and it never cools quite as much as if you pull the air from the inside of the car and cool that. It already starts out cooler. So that is what the air recirculation button is for. If you're affected by the smoke or fog and it's hard for you to breathe, press the air recirculation button and you should find some relief. Please, please, let's all keep the people that are affected by the fires in our hearts, whether it's in Canada or the United States.
